Sustainability strategy and ESG reporting go hand in hand

With the EU's new ESG reporting requirements, strategic sustainability plays a crucial role for companies, and this also applies to small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs). Not least if the company supplies products or services to large companies that must report on the entire value chain. Strategic sustainability is about running the business in a way that takes environmental, social and economic factors into account and which at the same time ensures value for the company in the form of e.g. better reputation, customer loyalty, employer branding, savings or increased turnover. It is crucial to be able to document your sustainability efforts and thereby achieve competitive advantages and meet customers' expectations and legal requirements. An important part of strategic sustainability is identifying and understanding the environmental and social challenges facing the SME and then developing an action plan to address them. For SMEs, strategic sustainability can be a challenge as it often requires resources and investment. This lecture is aimed at boards, managers and middle managers at SMEs and in the public sector who want insight into what it takes to prepare a sustainability strategy, which is the foundation for a good sustainability report. Henrik Schramm Rasmussen is a senior advisor and specialist in sustainability. He is the founder and owner of MIND YOUR BUSINESS, where he teaches and develops sustainability strategies for the benefit of companies' bottom lines and sustainable development. Henrik Schramm Rasmussen has worked for Dansk Industri (DI) for 18 years, from which he has gained extensive experience from the companies.
