Hanne Smith Pedersen is an MSc. in rhetoric and music. She teaches voice training, rhetoric and oral communication for people who use the voice in their work. She is employed at the rhetoric study at the University of Copenhagen, where she teaches voice use, reading and storytelling. In parallel, she runs the independent course company Fonegs Kommunikation, where the focus is on voice use, oral communication and rhetoric. Here she teaches and advises i.a. managers, information workers, salespeople, engineers and other educators in using the voice and language as best as possible.



I "Vi hører stemmer" møder du to retoriske stemmetrænere. Der er hjælp til alle de stemmer, der er på arbejde hele tiden, fx når man formidler, holder møder eller underviser.

The voice is one of the most important work tools in oral communication and mediation. While the words create the content, the voice shapes the intention with the content and the atmosphere in the room. At the same time, the voice gives an impression of who you are and how you feel in the specific situation.

At work, meetings, oral presentations and presentations are part of the working day for many. Here, the voice must be able to do something more than we need on a daily basis. The lecture focuses on how you can best utilize the potential of your voice.

As listeners, in 45 minutes you will get an introduction to the meaning of the voice and a good general understanding of how you can use the voice as a tool in communication.
The lecture focuses on:

- How tone of voice, body language and content can complement each other in conveyance and communication
- Concrete tools for appropriate voice use
- A common conceptual apparatus to optimize e.g. oral presentations, speeches, submissions to meetings and the use of voice in daily communication.

The lecture is for max. 100 participants


Stemmen er et af de vigtigste arbejdsredskaber i mundtlig kommunikation og formidling. Mens ordene skaber indholdet, former stemmen intentionen med indholdet og stemningen i lokalet. Samtidig giver stemmen et indtryk af, hvem du er, og hvordan du har det i den specifikke situation.

På jobbet er møder, mundtlige oplæg og fremlæggelser en del af arbejdsdagen for mange. Her skal stemmen kunne noget mere, end vi har brug for til daglig. Foredraget fokuserer på, hvordan I kan udnytte stemmens potentiale bedst.

Som tilhørere får I på 45 minutter en indføring til stemmens betydning og en god overordnet forståelse af, hvordan I kan bruge stemmen som et redskab i kommunikationen.
Foredraget fokuserer på:

- Hvordan stemmeføring, kropssprog og indhold kan supplere hinanden i formidling og kommunikation
- Konkrete redskaber til en hensigtsmæssig stemmebrug
- Et fælles begrebsapparat til at optimere fx. mundtlige præsentationer, taler, indlæg til møder og stemmebrugen i den daglige kommunikation.

"It's not what he says - it's the way he says it..." Between the words, the voice contains a lot of information, which sometimes contributes to making the oral communication fantastic and other times can lead to misunderstandings.

In this workshop, Hanne Smith Pedersen will focus on the role the speaking voice plays in our daily work, how we get the best out of the voice, and how it can be used as a tool to strengthen communication in the workplace.
The workshop will be fun and challenging when experimenting with the possibilities of the voice. This work provides inspiration to think about one's own use of voice and that of others: What do we do in different contexts? Is it appropriate? What happens when you are under pressure? How can you give feedback on other people's voice use in a constructive way?
The aim of the workshop is to gain a common language, in order to work consciously with the voice and the means of speech in daily communication. Use it e.g. as a kick-off to a staff day where you get to know each other in a new way.

”Det er ikke det han siger – det er måden han siger det på…” Mellem ordene rummer stemmen en masse informationer, som nogle gange bidrager til at gøre den mundtlige kommunikation fantastisk og andre gange kan føre til misforståelser.

I denne workshop vil Hanne Smith Pedersen sætte fokus på hvilken rolle, talestemmen spiller i vores daglige arbejde, hvordan vi får det bedste ud af stemmen, og hvordan den kan bruges som et værktøj til at styrke kommunikationen på arbejdspladsen.
Workshoppen bliver sjov og udfordrende, når der skal eksperimenteres med stemmens muligheder. Dette arbejde giver inspiration til at tænke på sin egen stemmebrug og på andres: Hvad gør vi i forskellige sammenhænge? Er det hensigtsmæssigt? Hvad sker der, når man bliver presset? Hvordan kan man give feedback om andres stemmebrug på en konstruktiv måde?
Målet med workshoppen er at få et fælles sprog, for at kunne arbejde bevidst med stemmen og talens virkemidler i den daglige kommunikation. Brug det fx. som et kick-off til en personaledag hvor i lærer hinanden at kende på en ny måde.

Do you feel misunderstood? Or that others ask you to repeat what you just said? In oral communication, the voice is an important factor in how you are perceived by others. With individual advice, you can get new techniques to use your voice more appropriately. It could be, for example, that:
• slow down to a fast speaking pace
• make the voice stable in stressful situations
• turn mumbling into clear speech and avoid people saying "what?"
• break a monotonous tone of voice
• have the technique to carry the voice so that it does not become hoarse
• get rid of too many uhs
• make your voice delivery more lively, so that the audience's attention is sharpened and retained.

The advice is individual and confidential.


Oplever du at blive misforstået? Eller at andre beder dig gentage, hvad du lige har sagt? I den mundtlige kommunikation er stemmen en vigtig faktor for, hvordan du bliver opfattet af andre. Med individuel rådgivning kan du få nye teknikker til at bruge stemmen mere hensigtsmæssigt. Det kan fx være at:
•	sænke et hurtigt taletempo
•	få stemmen til at være stabil i pressede situationer
•	gøre mumlen til tydelig tale og undgå, at folk siger ”hva’?”
•	bryde en monoton stemmeføring
•	have teknik til at bære stemmen, så den ikke bliver hæs
•	slippe af med for mange øh’er
•	gøre din stemmeføring mere levende, så publikums opmærksomhed skærpes og fastholdes.

Rådgivningen er individuel og fortrolig.

Hanne Smith Pedersen er cand.mag. i retorik og musik. Hun underviser i stemmetræning, retorik og mundtlig formidling for mennesker, der bruger stemmen i deres arbejde. Hun er ansat på retorikstudiet ved Københavns Universitet, hvor hun underviser i stemmebrug, oplæsning og fortælling. Sideløbende driver hun den selvstændige kursusvirksomhed Fonegs Kommunikation, hvor der er fokus på stemmebrug, mundtlig formidling og retorik. Her underviser og rådgiver hun bl.a. ledere, informationsmedarbejdere, sælgere, ingeniører og andre undervisere i at bruge stemmen og sproget bedst muligt.
