Howard Gardner wrote about the 7 intelligences back in 1983. Since then we got an 8th intelligence area, which he called the naturalistic intelligence, after which the spiritual intelligence was also added. But times are changing and I would argue that we now need another intelligence! Namely, the ability to communicate effectively with an AI with everything that goes with it. Many call it prompting skills, but Maria doesn't think that's accurate. In addition to being able to use the tools and communicate effectively, we must also have built up some new skills to be able to assess whether the results we get from an AI are useful. Are they factually correct? Are they ethically correct, are they legal/are there copyright issues etc.? And should we ALWAYS use the ai tools? Or are there times when we need to do something else and get as far away from technology as possible? Yes, Maria actually thinks we should. For example, you can probably recognize that it is often during the breaks, when you are out for a walk, or are with good people that you get the good ideas. We must continue to remember to cultivate that, even though we have now been provided with some fantastic tools that sometimes seem as if they could be a hammer and all the world's problems are nails...! ChatGPT that many have heard of delivers impressive results. But it is trained on large parts of the internet, which also means that in addition to research articles (which may be demented since 2021) it contains memes, Social Media posts, bad Hollywood scripts and lots of other things. This presents some obvious challenges that we need to know and deal with. Many things will change in the future where an AI can create a picture as beautiful as the most skilled painter! Creativity in the future will therefore be, among other things, being able to ask the right questions when we interact with Midjourney and ChatGPT or some of the other smart AI tools. In addition to the ability to get the desired results out of the tools, it is also in this intelligence to know a little about how they work. What they can be used for and what they absolutely CANNOT be used for.
